LOS ANGELES — Courage Campaign chair and founder Rick Jacobs issued the following statement today regarding Gov. Schwarzenegger’s call for a special session to overhaul California’s tax structure:

“Not satisfied with gutting education, health care and other vital services for millions of working Californians, Schwarzenegger now wants to go into sudden death overtime to take money directly out of our pockets to pay off his wealthy friends. The report the Governor commissioned aims to raise taxes for four out of five Californians, taking billions more from ordinary people and giving most of the revenue away to corporate CEOs and those making more than $200,000 a year. This is not what the people of California meant when they asked for reform.”
