Anthem Blue Cross's recent announcement of a 39% rate increase is just part of a larger trend of insurance companies bleeding customers dry. Average premiums have risen by 96% in California since 2000, and will continue to do so until
we finally achieve a single-payer health care system.

The Courage Campaign is committed to helping make single-payer health care a reality in California. One step on that
path is to bring sunshine into the process by regulating insurance company price gouging. That's why we are calling on
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to support legislation that is being drawn up right now in the state legislature to regulate
