We, the undersigned, are outraged that insurance companies continue to deny care and treatment to people that need it. We expect you to deliver a strong health care reform bill that will end these abusive corporate practices.
Americans need a health care reform bill that will stop insurers from denying coverage to people with pre-existing conditions. We need a bill that will stop them from bait-and-switch tactics that leave patients facing much larger bills than they expected. We need a bill that provides the choice of a public option so
that insurance companies are forced to play fairly and honestly.Conservative Democrats and Republicans are trying to undermine these reforms. They have received
millions of dollars in contributions from insurance companies to preserve the system that fails thousands of Americans daily.We expect you to resist these efforts and lead Congress in passing a real health care reform bill -- with a strong public option -- for President Obama to sign into law.
