Stand up for Ryan Kendall and other victims of "conversion therapy"
Sign the letter to Focus on the Family, NARTH and the Family Research Council and tell them to disavow George Rekers

Ryan Kendall, a key witness in the federal Prop 8 trial, testified about the years of abuse he suffered from "conversion therapy" -- a fraudulent practice promoted by Dr. George Rekers.
Rekers has been all over the news recently, including a New York Times article exposing his ties as an "expert" to the Prop 8 trial and similar trials across the country. Rekers co-founded the anti-gay Family Research Council and sat on the board of the National Association for Research & Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH).
Rekers has destroyed countless lives with his advocacy for "conversion therapy" for LGBT people. It's time we stop him. Will you stand up for Ryan Kendall and so many others and sign this letter to Focus on the Family, NARTH and the Family Research Council?
Dear NARTH, Focus on the Family and the Family Research Council,
"Conversion therapy" has caused countless gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people unimaginable pain. It has driven many people to suicide.
Look no further than to Ryan Kendall, who had a year and a half of his life stolen when Focus on the Family referred his parents to NARTH. In his heartbreaking testimony during Perry v. Schwarzenegger -- the Prop 8 federal trial -- he described years he spent homeless, depressed and suicidal.
Or look at Dr. George Rekers, who helped co-found the Family Research Council and until recently was on the board of NARTH. Rekers recently hired a male prostitute for a European vacation via an escort website called "Rent Boy," exposing his hypocrisy to the world.
It is clear that "conversion therapy" doesnt work. It didnt work for Ryan and it didnt work for Dr. Rekers. We can't undo the damage done to an untold number of people, but we can make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else.
We demand that you disavow Dr. Rekers and so-called "conversion therapy." Don't steal another day or another life with this destructive junk science.
Sincerely,
