Educating Arnold:
No More Partisan Dirty Tricks
No More Partisan Dirty Tricks
The outcome of the "Presidential Electoral Reform Act," planned for the June ballot in California, is virtually guaranteed to determine the winner of the 2008 presidential election in November. Despite the national notoriety of this Dirty Trick Act, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger says he has not read it yet and has refused to take a stance.
We know Arnold is a busy guy, but the Act is only three pages. It will only take him five minutes to read.
By clicking below, you can send Arnold a copy of the initiative, so he has no more excuses. And, if you want to give Arnold your two cents about why he hasn’t terminated this partisan initiative by opposing it, you can add a few thoughts for Mr. "Post-Partisan" as well.
The Republicans are attempting an unprecedented power grab to steal the election and our "post-partisan" governor is claiming ignorance. Has he failed to grasp the lessons of the 2005 election? In California, partisan power grabs are unacceptable and divisive.
You can make sure Arnold has read the initiative and heard your voice. From the grassroots to the netroots, let's flood Arnold’s office with copies of the initiative so he can no longer avoid the truth.

The Letter:
Dear Gov.Arnold Schwarzenegger,
On August 23, 2007 you were asked about the "Presidential Electoral Reform Act" – the initiative your former lawyers are attempting to place on the June 3, 2008 ballot in California.
This unprecedented partisan power-grab would dictate a re-allocation of about twenty of California's 55 Electoral College votes, thus handing the White House to a Republican no matter the popular vote in November.
You said:
"I haven't looked at the language and I'm not saying I'm against it or I'm for it or anything."
It’s about time you take five minutes and read the initiative. I have enclosed a copy and would like you to look at it closely.
Next time you are asked publicly about this initiative, you will no longer have an excuse to play dumb about this partisan dirty trick.
Please stand up, Governor, and do the right thing for California and the country.
Sincerely,
