MOTTO: United We Can, Overcome We Shall! MISSION: Gays UN is a national not-for-profit grassroots organization founded to affect change by uniting and empowering our community both in California and nationally through direct actions, such as: sponsoring fundraising, canvassing, public education and letter writing campaigns, online and offline petition drives, protests, rallies and vigils. OUR VISION: We envision a united America that is truly equal where LGBT-Americans are liberated from discrimination. OUR COMMITMENT TO ACTION: Short-Time: -Sponsor fundraising events locally and in as many other cities as possible to raise funds for organizations that work on marriage equality initiatives. -Sponsor canvassing campaign in the State of California in support of our community's goal of repealing Prop 8. Long-Term: -Restore integrity to our Constitution and dignity to our Community. - Initiate and develop new leaders for the movement. -Represent and serve the entire LGBT family, specifically youth, disabled, seniors and families in our advocacy and public education efforts. -Hold elected officials in the legislative, judiciary and executive branch of government accountable. -Build national network of diverse organizations across racial, ethnic, social and economic divides.
