Experience/Story: My mother had six children and upon divorcing my father in 1975 was welcomed with open arms to live with her brother provided she bring ALL of the kids with her. My dearest and sweetest uncle took care of us better than either parent. He made his spare time available to us all. He made time when there was not any to spare. He looked at us with love and gave us the sense of security needed to be well in the world. He extended his naturally generous disposition on to communities and had innumerable friends the world wide. HAD he had his love by his side whom he kept from us - that could have been his strength and one reward for possessing such heart. We could have all been stronger with two people similar in beliefs. The decision to uphold the ban is terribly wrong. The power to judge has been abused for too long, and if our state is to be protected - I will consider this bad parenting - California not accepting its children as they are. A reflection only of poor leadership, it will still wound the children indelibly. I do not thank you California. I do wish you a faster rate of learning however. Angie Seegers - San Francisco
