I really can't believe we're still debating this. I was talking to my girlfriend the other day and she proposed that people are blocking the passing of the legislation simply because if soldiers 'had' to work/eat/live/fight/survive alongside out gay people and then came to the radical conclusion that they were just as 'normal' as everyone else then that would cause one of the staunchest resistors to acceptance of homosexuals/ality/behavior to crumble...much like racial tensions from WWII on.

I don't know why but that thought hadn't really occurred to me before. It's so simple. The logic against dismantling DADT (just like the logic for opposing same-sex marriage) doesn't make any sense to me. I can see fear in it, but not much else.

This whole debate is just ridiculous to me.
