Reports of arrogant and verbally and abusive conduct of the Chair of a Standing Committee are alarming in that it appears to have been a blatant display.

Questions need to be raised about who is responsible for the entire agenda of The CA Dem Party that does not appear to place a priority on the convenience and comfort of members and delegates paying "the freight" in dues and fees, much less courtesy and respect for their views as ELECTED representatives of their constituencies. This site of the meeting was very inappropriate and on the weekend prior to Thanksgiving when families are preparing for this major festivity.

The Media has not in decades even explored these roles at local levels of County Central Committees and statewide as to The Democratic State Central Committee. It has been a "closed loop." And this is what emerges when the "curtain" is drawn!

Stop the Fighting
By Michael Shannon Nov 20, 2007 at 7:50:30 AM PT
Why don't you expend your energy in getting Democrats elected? If you don't like a particular Democrat, it's your right to vote against them.

Let's remember that the current leadership of the party got us control of the congress. That meant an increase in minimum wage, increase in college tuition, an increase in veteran's care benefits, and let's not forget the fight to increase the number of children covered under heathcare. These would never have occured under a Republican congress.

Then there is the matter of the resolution of the Democratic Congress got through for a timetable to withdraw from Iraq. If not for W's veto pen, we'd have that too. So, I implore you to expend your energy in getting a Democrat into the white house rather attacking our own.

Anaheim Convention

As a former member of the California Democratic Party Executive Committee, I am dismayed that the Chair so readily closed off debate, let alone a vote on this issue. How anti-democratic can the party get? Ever since the NDC was formed the Democratic Party has no longer served as a party of, by and for the people but one for the monied interests. I despair.
