While discussing the lawsuit challenging Proposition 8 in federal court, Brian Raum, an attorney representing the defense, said that Prop 8 does not discriminate because it allows gay people to marry as long as they wed someone of the opposite sex.

   Well, the real right represented by the right to marriage is the opportunity to create a healthy family, of two or more, out of a strong relationship. That isn't possible for a homosexual person in a heterosexual relationship to do. I mean, can you imagine if lesbians and gay guys were marrying each other?
