Congressman David Dreier is a double-talker. And he's been talking out of both sides of his mouth since the day he sailed into the House of Representatives 27 years ago as a freshman Republican congressman.

For the last eight years, Mr. Dreier has been one of President Bush's top enablers. He has voted with Bush 93.6% of the time and led the charge on Bush Administration policies as a henchman in the previous GOP majority. In the minority, he now serves as one of Bush's most reliable obstructionists in the House.

On the most important issues of our time -- especially Iraq and the economy -- David "Double-Talk" Dreier consistently says one thing and does another.

It's a charade. Mr. Dreier's carefully crafted "moderate" persona is completely at odds with the reality of his record in Washington. He pretends to be one thing and does another, voting with George W. Bush when it matters -- and hurts his constituents -- the most.
